Super easy and simple sourdough bread recipe, step-by-step instructions making it easy to understand. The bread is so soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups of flour

  • 3/4 cup of active sourdough starter

  • 1 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Directions

  • Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix together, and cover with a lid for 20 minutes.
  • Stretch and fold the dough 4-6 times all around and cover with a lid 20 more minutes, repeat 2 more times. Let it rise for 8-12 hours until doubled.
  • Shape the dough folding it into itself and set it in a lightly floured towel covering the dough, putting it in a bowl with a lid in the fridge overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 475 degrees putting your Dutch oven in to preheat. Once the oven is preheated pull your dough out of the fridge and set the dough on a floured piece of parchment paper and score your dough.
  • Bake for 23 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid setting your oven to 450 degrees and cook for 13 minutes. Pull out your bread letting it cool before slicing and enjoy!

Notes

  • If wanting to cook that night let it set at room temp for 4 hours after being shaped and then bake, instead of setting overnight.
  • Let the dough set in the fridge for up to 5 days.
